teletherapy

What is teletherapy?

Teletherapy is therapy provided via computer. Your child and your therapist are face-to-face but digitally and not in person. This allows therapists to see kids in remote locations or to continue to see them when social distancing is necessary.

Teletherapy has been around for years and is used as an alternative to person-to-person therapy. Research shows teletherapy is just as successful as in person when provided in a structured, purposeful way.

Word Play has a virtual treatment room that is HIPAA compliant and completely interactive. Our therapists are trained to use teletherapy with all ages and diagnoses. Given that kids today are "digital natives", they love this platform and look forward to their time with our therapists.
